Georgia rises to No. 2 in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings after latest pledge
Georgia’s pursuit of back-to-back No. 1 classes in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings took a little time to get rolling.
But the Bulldogs are firing on all cylinders heading into the final week of June. On Monday, Kirby Smart and Co. landed a massive commitment from Warner Robins (Ga.) five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson, who decommitted from USC last week.
The nation’s No. 27 overall prospect and No. 1 edge rusher, Gibson gives UGA its second five-star commitment on the defensive side of the ball to go along with Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County linebacker Zayden Walker.
And in the process, it pushes the Bulldogs up to No. 2 in the team rankings, moving past both LSU and Alabama.
“With Georgia, anything is possible,” Gibson told On3’s Chad Simmons of why he made the decision. “Georgia is just a great place. The overall way that coach Smart runs the program, I feel like it is amazing. It’s remarkable, honestly.”

Bulldogs Class Breakdown
The state of Georgia is loaded in the rising senior class, punctuated by seven five-stars, a few of whom are major targets. UGA already has a head start with commitments from three of the top seven in-state targets pledged and two more trending in their direction — five-star defensive linemen Elijah Griffin and Justus Terry.
The Bulldogs are up to 15 commitments in total after landing Gibson and local four-star offensive lineman Dontrell Glover on Monday.
Of Georgia’s 15 commitments, seven project to the offensive side of the ball and eight are expected to play defense at the next level. The aforementioned Walker, Gibson, five-star tight end Elyiss Williams, four-star wideout Talyn Taylor and four-star EDGE Darren Ikinnagbon gives UGA five commits who rank in the top-100 in the country. 11 of the 15 pledges hail from the Peach State, with an average distance from Athens of just over 220 miles.
