4-star EDGE DJ Wesolak stays home, ready to help Missouri win

DJ Wesolak lives about 15 minutes from the Missouri campus. He is very familiar with Columbia, visiting the Tigers over half a dozen times.

Eliah Drinkwitz has made the four-star out of Boonville a priority from the start, and his program beat out another SEC program in the end.

“I was thinking hard about LSU, but I am staying home with Missouri,” Wesolak told On3. “It was really simple. Throughout the whole process, Missouri recruited me hard, they made me feel wanted, and I know I will have great support there.

“It is close to home, I have gotten to know so many of the coaches, and they want the best for me. It was really tough to get through the process, but I am excited about staying home.”

Staying home has its perks. The No. 185 prospect in the On3 Consensus mentioned being a hometown hero, being able to have family and friends see him play, and knowing a lot of people in the area.

His No. 1 goal is to give those in his hometown a lot to cheer for.

“I want to help Missouri win games. I want to help coach Drink bring the level up at Missouri. It is something he talks about, I know he wants to up the standard, and we have similar goals.

“Winning is important to me and that is what I want to do at Missouri. Coach Drink has recruited a great class, he wants to keep the best players home, and I am going to be part of bringing success back and changing the culture at my home-state school.”

Wesolak is a 6-foot-3, 238-pound EDGE who Missouri plans to use at rush end.
