Nebraska CB Syncere Safeeullah plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

Nebraska CB Syncere Safeeullah plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to an announcement on his Twitter/X page.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Safeeullah was a three-star recruit out of Nashville (Tenn.) playing his HS football at IMG Academy (Fla.), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 173 overall prospect in Florida, the No. 114 cornerback in the class and the No. 1,211 overall prospect in the class.

Safeeullah did not log any stats this season for the Huskers. He released a statement regarding his decision.

“Dear Nebraska, God brought me to this incredible place for a reason, and I am deeply grateful for the time I’ve sepnt here, I wouldn’t change my experiences for anything,” Safeeullah wrote. “I am thankful for the coaches, staff, and trainers who believed in me and pushed me every day to grow both on and off the field. The relationships that I’ve built with everyone in this program are invaluable and I know they will last a lifetime. I would like to thank the Husker fans for their unwavering support!”

Safeeullah also thanked his teammates as he looked towards what was to come.

“After careful consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal next month with three years of eligibility remaining. Thank you Nebraska, for everything.”
