In-state wideout Coy Eakin commits to Texas Tech
Stephenville (Texas) wide receiver Coy Eakin has committed to Texas Tech, announcing his decision late Saturday night on social media.
“I would like to first thank God for providing me this opportunity to play at the next level. I appreciate my family, friends, and all the coaches who have believed in (throughout) my career. I would also like to thank all the coaches that have given me the chance to play at this level. With the being said, I would like to announce my commitment to Texas Tech University,” Eakin said.

He helped Stephenville to a perfect season and state championship this past fall, snagging 93 passes for 2,140 yards and 31 scores.
Eakin joins a recruiting class ranked No. 45 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Summit four-star defensive lineman Joseph Adedire, Broken Arrow (Okla.) four-star athlete Maurion Horn and Mansfield (Texas) Mansfield Timberview four-star safety Landon Hullaby are the top recruits in the class.
