Virginia Tech transfer offensive lineman Gunner Givens commits to Vanderbilt
Virginia Tech offensive lineman Gunner Givens is taking his talents to Nashville, joining the Vanderbilt Commodores via the NCAA transfer portal, he announced through X.
It’s a nice get for Clark Lea and company. Givens is a former four-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 275 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class and No. 20 IOL.
Moreover, Givens did not play during his true freshman season, utilizing his redshirt that season. In 2023, he played on the defensive line. He played in three games, making one tackle across that span. In 2024, he transitioned to the offensive line.
Virginia Tech boasted one of the most lethal rushing attacks in the ACC this season. In 2024, the Hokies’ offensive line helped push forward a rushing attack that compiled over 2,000 yards during the regular season.
