West Virginia transfer IOL Kyle Altuner signs with Virginia Tech
IOL Kyle Altuner has signed with Virginia Tech from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Altuner just finished his lone season with West Virginia. He did not appear in a game with the Mountaineers as a true freshman this fall.
Altuner, a native of Olney, Maryland, played high school football at Good Counsel. He was the No. 403 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in the 2024 cycle. He also rated as a Top-40 IOL and a Top-15 player out of his state. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. With that rating, he was the top signee from last year’s recruiting class for WVU.
Now, per the latest in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players, Altuner was the No. 49 IOL and the No. 509 overall transfer.

With that, Altuner is the ninth addition in the portal during this cycle for the Hokies. He actually comes to Blacksburg alongside another offensive lineman for the Mountaineers in Tomas Rimac (No. 3 IOL, No. 37 overall). They’ll also come to VT with CB Isaiah Brown-Murray (East Carolina), three running backs in Terion Stewart (Bowling Green), Marcellous Hawkins (Central Missouri), and Cameron Seldon (Tennessee), and then three safeties in Sherrod Covil (Clemson), Tyson Flowers (Rice), and Isaiah Cash (Sam Houston State).
