Texas high school football coach leaving North Crowley for college job
One of the top high school football head coaches in Texas is stepping down and heading to the collegiate level.
According to a report by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, Ray Gates informed North Crowley on Wednesday that he’s stepping down as the Panthers’ head coach and taking a job at North Texas.
Per the report, Gates will be the special assistant under North Texas head coach Neal Brown. Gates finishes his tenure at North Crowley after four successful seasons, compiling a record of 54-4 with a UIL Class 6A, Division I state championship in 2024.
