Shocking Weddle inserting himself into being the main character. Classy fella but for someone who berates a kid for sneezing in his back swing at Torrey Pines maybe have thicker skin.

All that matters is how he plays during the season. There’s nothing to talk about. We will see

Weddle back peddling but trying to toe the line.

Time will tell. Weddle called his shot, and Bryce will have the opportunity to prove him wrong this fall.

Said this in another post but I think there's some weird dynamic between Weddle and Whit at the moment, he had some choice words for him after he took the Michigan job. Whit still gave him access and invited him out and he's still taking digs. Think he may still be a little salty about gutting his alma maters staff and may be rooting against him a bit.
Also, I'm pretty tired of the Bryce narratives. Was he great last year? Absolutely not but he was not even in the bottom half of the league statistically and with the hindsight we have now as a true freshman starter he had the deck stacked against him quite a bit from a coaching perspective with a no. 1 target who was also a true freshman. All for kids getting theirs but this is the tradeoff of the truly regulation free pay for play we see now. Quite similar to the NFL where you now are expected as a first year starter to produce or you're cast aside because of the capital invested in you. Bryce could moderately improve stats, manage a game better and turn it over less this year and that's still a positive with all the chance in the world of popping in year 3 and looking like the first round QB he was touted as.

IMO there's no need to go after Weddle, he saw what we haven't seen, and it's not completely unreasonable given what we've seen recently and what we've heard from reports. Is it weird to go out in public like this? Sure, a bit. But that doesn't mean what he said is unfounded.

Also … “I thought the level of QB play was not what I expected from my standard of QB play”
Well, I guess that settles that. Bryce didn’t live up to Eric Weddle’s standard of QB play in the one practice he saw. I had high hopes for Bryce but failing the Weddle Mettle test calls everything into question

Guy is entitled to his opinion. Based on the information we currently have Bryce isn’t anywhere close to being the top recruit in the country last year. No… he had little to no coaching as a 17 year old freshman. That set him back. But his mechanics and decision making aren’t where they should be.
Michigan fans are mad because he isn’t drinking the blue koolaid that’s distributed here daily. As others have said…. Bryce will have plenty of opportunities to show improvement and that he’s on his way to fulfilling his potential. Until then… plenty to criticize. Some will explain it away. Others will point to problems that might not get solved… all opinion…

MRSharkFB said:I didn’t read that part. But everything else he said seems reasonable. Inaccurate, what he would expect from the QB at this point, probably a single datapoint, but the same one that lots of people here also saw and asked, WTF. Is he raw in his delivery of the assessment? Sure. Is he a dick? Absolutely. But his general premise doesn’t seem all that unreasonable. If you remove the hyperbole, which he just indicated he provided, then it’s just another guy saying BU isn’t very good in the things that make good QB’s good.Suggesting he move immediately to WR or EDGE isn't unreasonable? After watching a single practice?
