This comes as no surprise. It also means he will announce his plans on Dec. 31. My guess is the transition will happen in and around Jan. 30, 2027 which was pretty much the plan all along.
Update--I was wrong about the Jan. 30, 2027--it looks as if it will be EOY.

Wait until you see his replacement before you all get too excited.

Raise the statue in Mitch's honor? Statue of Mitch, that is...

Incoming ADs I would think would also want to know this.Raise the statue in Mitch's honor? Statue of Mitch, that is... Hopefully Lehman is up to the challenge. Big, big decision - bigger than any single coaching hire.Just realized this means Mitch is probably doing the hiring here .. that should be a good thing.

Meet new boss. Same as the old boss. That's going to be the outcome. For better or for worse, Purdue is going to do what it's always done.

Other than one bad hire, he didn't do a bad job. Definitely room for improvement though!

Imagine submitting a resume that includes hiring the worst football coach in Purdue history. Grimes wouldn't get hired at Lafayette Jeff.
