Tulane working to hire Florida's Russ Callaway as offensive coordinator
Tulane is working to hire Florida’s Russ Callaway as its next offensive coordinator, sources tell On3. Tulane and Florida are working through the financial arrangement.
Callaway was on Billy Napier’s Florida staff since 2022 as a tight ends coach, including as the Gators’ offensive coordinator in 2025. Tulane promoted pass game coordinator Will Hall to head coach earlier this week.

Jon Sumrall accepted the Florida head coaching job at the end of November. He’s since won the American Conference title game, with the Green Wave earning the No. 11 seed in the College Football Playoff. Tulane visits Ole Miss on Dec. 20 in the first round of the CFP.
Callaway arrived in Gainesville after spending the 2021 season with the New York Giants, serving as an offensive assistant, and the 2020 season as a senior offensive assistant and analyst at LSU. His resume also includes stints at Alabama and Samford. He spent five seasons at Samford, where he served as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2016-19, while also coaching the wide receivers from 2015-17.
