Boston Celtics rule out center Robert Williams for game four vs Bucks
Ahead of their game four matchup with the Bucks on Monday night, the Boston Celtics made a decision on the availability of center Robert Williams. Williams will be out for game four with soreness in his left knee, leaving Boston without their big man from Texas A&M.
Robert Williams out for Celtics
Williams being unavailable for Boston is a big blow to their defensive efforts, as Williams has emerged as a valuable role player for the Celtics this year. Williams started 61 games during the regular season and averaged just under 30 minutes per game on the court — nearly averaging a double-double with 10 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
His production in the playoffs has dipped, but Williams remains a vital part of Boston’s team and part of their efforts to stop Giannis Antetokounmpo on the defensive end.

Boston selected Williams with the 27th overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, after Williams completed a two-year career with the Aggies that saw him win SEC Defensive Player of the Year both seasons. Williams averaged 11.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game throughout his college career.
The Bucks will host Boston Monday night at 7:30 p.m. CT, with Milwaukee carrying a 2-1 lead into the pivotal game four. If Boston can take a game back on the road, they would return to Boston with the series tied and home court advantage. If Milwaukee can hold their own court, they would take a commanding 3-1 lead in a series where many doubted the current NBA champions could advance before the series began.
