Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield injured on sneak vs. Colts, Kyle Trask replaces him
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered an apparent ankle injury during the first quarter of the Week 12 road tilt against the Indianapolis Colts (5-5) Sunday.
Mayfield was replaced under center by third-year signal-caller Kyle Trask to finish out Tampa Bay’s opening drive, which ended in a field goal. Mayfield sustained the injury after getting his ankle landed on by a Colts defender on a quarterback sneak at the 1-yard line.

After being checked out in the blue medical tent, Mayfield returned to the game for Tampa Bay’s next series.
Mayfield, in his first season with the Buccaneers, entered Sunday’s game having thrown for 2,389 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions on 64.6% passing. His 55.1 QBR ranks 15th among quarterbacks in the NFL.
