Xavier Legette injury: Panthers WR heads to tent after massive hit from CJ Gardner-Johnson
Carolina Panthers (3-9) rookie wideout Xavier Legette went into the blue medical tent in the first quarter of Sunday’s Week 14 road game against the Philadelphia Eagles (10-2).
Legette took a massive hit to the body from Eagles safety CJ Gardner-Johnson.
Legette returned to the field for Carolina’s second offensive series.
Xavier Legette, Bryce Young connection growing week-by-week
Legette, the first round pick out of South Carolina, entered Sunday’s game as Carolina’s leading receiver this season. The 23-year-old has hauled in 37 receptions for 393 yards and four touchdowns, establishing a solid connection of late with second-year quarterback Bryce Young.

Though drops have been an issue for Legette, the Panthers look to have at the very least a solid contributor for their offense going forward.
“I definitely trust [Xavier]; I trust all of our receivers,” Young said in October. “In this league, it’s a lot of bang-bang plays, a lot of tight windows, and tough throws.”
