Adonyss Currie was one of the more active cornerbacks in coverage on Saturday at the OT7 FInals and backed that impressive showing up with a handful of highlight plays before his Team Toa squad was eliminated on Sunday. Listed at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, the On300 prospect has a very good combination of stature and athleticism. Currie had several high-level pass breakups over the final two days in addition to an interception. He’s a top sprinter who consistently runs in the 10.6 second range in the 100 meters. Currie brought that athleticism to the compressed 7-on-7 field, showing the ability to stay in phase on vertical routes. He also flashed some eye-catching vertical bounce and ball skills, using his length to deflect passes. The California native looked like one of the twitchier defensive backs on hand all weekend and made the plays to back it up.
