Armondo Blount Scouting Reports

2 Reports
  1. Armondo Blount earns 5th star from On3

    Charles Power5/15/23

Armondo Blount earned his 5th star in On3's update to the 2025 On300, becoming the sixth prospect to gain five-star status. Blount has backed up his status as one of the more physically gifted defenders in the cycle at this stage. He has measured in at close to 6-foot-4, 250 pounds and flashes a dynamite first-step and quick hands. Blount had a dominant sophomore campaign at Miami Dillard, showing advanced pass rush skills as a stand up rusher. He’s also excelled in track and field as a top thrower, posting a personal best shot put toss of 55-6 feet this spring. Blount’s ability to rush the passer from any spot on the defensive front makes him one of the more projectable defenders in the 2025 cycle. It remains to be seen where he’ll top out at from a size perspective and that could ultimately determine if he’s a defensive lineman or EDGE prospect. Regardless, we felt he was worthy of adding a fifth star.

    Primary
    Charles Power5/15/23

Versatile, athletic defensive lineman who is capable of creating disruption from any spot on the defensive front. Looks like one of the more physically-gifted defenders early on in the 2025 cycle. Measured in at close to 6-foot-3.5, 250 pounds. Has the size of a future defensive tackle but the athleticism and pass rush skills of a top EDGE prospect. Flashes a plus first-step and quick hands both on Friday nights and in camp settings. Turned in a dominant sophomore campaign at Miami Dillard, showing advanced pass rush skills as a stand up rusher. Lives in the backfield, using his athleticism, strong hands and instincts to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Also doubles as a top track and field athlete, with a personal best of 55-6 feet in the shot put. Remains to be seen where he’ll end up from a size perspective, adding to some ambiguity around his position long-term.
