    After Isaiah Bond, Kentucky signee Barion Brown was the fastest receiver at the All-American Bowl. Brown is more than a straight-line speedster, though. The Nashville product has the ability to change-directions mid-route and in the open field with hesitation and dead-leg moves. Brown made a few impressive plays in the open field early on in the game before going out with a sprained ankle. He tended to have concentration drops over the course of the week, which could be partially explained by the fact he was used more of a ball-carrier than receiver as a senior.

    One of the more electric pass catchers in the 2022 cycle. A state champion sprinter in the 100 and 200 meters who transfers the track speed over to the field. Bursts off the line of scrimmage and uses the long speed to blow by cornerbacks on vertical routes. Pairs the straight line speed with high-end change of direction, making him a threat to score on any play. Toggles between quick steps and a long-stride once in the open field. Has a dangerous dead leg move. Change of direction skills point to upside as a route-runner. Shows the ability to track the ball over his shoulder both in games and 7-on-7 settings. Primarily employed as a rusher and return man as a senior and posting some gaudy statistics. Also plays cornerback and has the skills to be a high level prospect there, as well. Thin build and will need to add mass and strength.

    After Evan Stewart, we found Barion Brown to be one of the toughest covers within the wide receiver group nationally. The Nashville (Tenn.) Pearl-Cohn speedster is a considerable deep threat. Brown easily blows past opposing cornerbacks on vertical routes and is capable of taking any quick touch to the house. He’s not just a straight-line athlete though. We like Brown’s ability to change direction within his routes. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder has also shown the ability to track and locate the ball while playing receiver and corner. That speed shows up on the track as well, where Brown was the Tennessee state champion in the 100 and 200 meters.
