Ran a 4.78 electronically-timed 40-yard dash and jumped a 29.5-inch vertical during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Extends plays with his legs outside of the pocket. Needs to develop more patience within the pocket, but when he is in open space he creates explosive plays. Backup quarterback as a freshman at Duncanville (Texas) High to current Utah QB Ja’Quinden Jackson until the state championship game where he lost his first start to fellow Texas powerhouse North Shore. Transferred to Red Oak (Texas) High for his sophomore season where he led the team to the state quarterfinals before transferring to Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood for his junior season. Threw for 2,309 yards and rushed for 1,007 while scoring 42 total touchdowns on the year during his junior campaign. Struggles to layer the football and throw with consistent ball placement. Has the physical tools to be a dynamic offensive weapon in the run and passing game. Needs to gain more consistency as a passer in order to jump to the next level as a quarterback.
