Gunner Stockton Scouting Reports

5 Reports
  1. Gunner Stockton evaluation at All-American Bowl

    Charles Power1/8/22

Aside from regional 7-on-7’s this was our first chance to see Gunner Stockton outside the confines of Friday nights. Stockton is a little different than the other quarterbacks detailed above. The 6-foot, 215-pounder is at his best when he can stress a defense and open up passing lanes by presenting a between-the-tackles run threat. We saw this during the game, where Stockton led a touchdown drive, much in part to his rushing ability. Stockton has a strong arm, but will need to continue improving his feel and nuance as a passer. He’ll also need to improve his awareness for contact as he has a penchant for taking some huge shots.

  2. Gunner Stockton named Georgia's Gatorade Player of the Year

    Charles Power12/8/21

Gunner Stockton was named Georgia's Gatorade Player of the Year following his senior season. Stockton put up some gaudy stats at 2A Rabun County as a senior. He completed 236 of 331 passes for 4,134 yards and 55 touchdowns with just one interception. He also rushed for 956 yards and 15 touchdowns.

  3. Gunner Stockton Scouting Summary

    Primary
    Charles Power10/28/21

A tough, strong-armed historically productive quarterback. A dominant high school quarterback playing mid-level high school football in north Georgia. Has a stocky, compact build that he uses as a power runner between the tackles. Shows his toughness by standing in the pocket and delivering passes despite taking some huge hits. Has a live arm with the ability to hit downfield shots with regularity. Creative when the play breaks down. Breaking passing records, while also being productive on the ground dating back to his freshman season. A fiery competitor who plays with emotion. Has to wind up within his throwing motion at times. Better in live games than passing-only situations as his running ability can open up the passing game.

  4. Gunner Stockton mid-season senior evaluation

    Charles Power9/22/21

Gunner Stockton has been one of the more productive quarterbacks in high school football going on four years and this season is no different. The Georgia commit does it all for Tiger (Ga.) Rabun County as a downfield passer and powerful runner between the tackles. Rabun County faced a tough ball-control offense in a week one loss but has rebounded to have several strong showings. In watching video of Stockton, I noticed his willingness to stick in the pocket and deliver in the face of contact. There's certainly no doubting his toughness.

  5. Gunner Stockton faces off against fellow Georgia commit

    Charles Power8/20/21

Gunner Stockton faced off against fellow Georgia commit Malaki Starks and Jefferson High. The game was paused due to weather and shortened by Jefferson's ball control, option offense. Starks kept the chains moving and finished with 74 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. Stockton was 10-19 passing for 136 yards. He rushed for 59 yards on 10 carries.
