McCarthy is. “I’ve said it before, but right here, this is the greatest quarterback in University of Michigan –  college football history." It's hard to argue with Harbaugh's thoughts. McCarthy was a two-time All-Big Ten selection, and he finished his career with a 27-1 record as a starter, the best winning percentage (96.4) by any college quarterback since Toledo's Chuck Ealey (1971) and Oklahoma's Jimmy Harris (1956). McCarthy takes pride in how he plays. "It's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war," he said while at Michigan. "We have so much joy playing this game and there's that deep warrior inside all of us that no matter what it takes, we're going to get it done."
