Jordan Ross Scouting Reports

4 Reports
  1. Jordan Ross earns fifth star in final On300

    Charles Power1/31/24

Jordan Ross earned a fifth star, finishing No. 7 overall in the 2024 On300.After seeing nearly all of the cycle’s top EDGE’s at national all-star games, we came away thinking Tennessee signee Jordan Ross (No. 7) looked like the most complete prospect among the group. The Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills product is an ascending prospect – pairing a strong senior season with a pair of fantastic all-star showings. Ross was a Top Performer and stock up prospect for On3 at the Under Armour All-America Game and backed that up with a dominant showing in the Polynesian Bowl a few weeks later. At 6-foot-4.5, 220 pounds with outstanding combine athleticism, Ross has one of the best first steps we’ve seen among 2024 EDGE prospects. His ability to bend and turn the corner at top speed was readily apparent. In addition to being a speed mismatch off the edge, Ross flashed a noticeable motor and effort level during live periods.

  2. Jordan Ross a Top Performer at Under Armour All-America Game

    Charles Power1/3/24

Jordan Ross arguably put together the best week of practice among the EDGE players on hand. The 6-foot-4.5, 220-pounder showed the most juice off the edge for Team Fire over the course of the week. Ross combines a nice frame with dynamic first-step quickness and overall athleticism. He’s a loose and fluid mover who has the flexibility to dip and bend around the corner. The future Vol was very active in team drills throughout practice and won 1-on-1 reps at a high rate. The total skill set he put on display points to a high developmental ceiling. Ross ranks as the No. 38 overall prospect in the On300 rankings.

  3. Jordan Ross Scouting Summary

    Primary
    Cody Bellaire8/31/23

Athletic EDGE prospect with the physical ability to develop into a dangerous pass rusher. Measured in 6-foot-4.5, 215 pounds with a 33.5-inch arm prior to his senior season. Registers as a top athlete in the combine setting. Lines up all over the field for his high school. Works on the edge and as an off-ball linebacker at times. Makes most of his plays as a pursuit defender, using his athleticism and range to track down plays from sideline-to-sideline. Has palpable burst and play speed. Needs to improve his technical skill as a pass rusher and increase his play strength, base and anchor. Flashes his athleticism as a basketball player. Younger for the cycle with a May birthday.

  4. Jordan Ross a top performer at Under Armour Atlanta camp

    Charles Power2/26/23

Jordan Ross looked like the top EDGE prospect at Under Armour Atlanta. The 6-foot-4.5, 215-pounder showed high-end movement skills in drills. Ross’s quickness and burst stood out among the group. The Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills prospect also turned in a solid session of 1-on-1’s, using his speed off the ball to beat offensive linemen to their spot. Ross has room to continue developing from a physical and technical standpoint, but the tools and upside were evident on Sunday.
