Four-star SG Joseph Hartman commits to Michigan

Joseph Hartman, a four-star shooting guard in the 2026 class, has committed to Michigan, he told Rivals.

The 6-foot-5 senior out of The Rock School (FL) chose the Wolverines over Minnesota, Dayton, Iowa, Butler and others.

He is the son of Florida men’s basketball associate head coach Carlin Hartman.

Hartman is ranked as the No. 77 overall player in the nation, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 18 shooting guard and the No. 9 player in Florida.

While playing with Austin Rivers SE Elite on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, Hartman averaged 16.5 points per game.

Hartman on his commitment to Michigan

Joseph Hartman discussed his decision to choose Michigan with Rivals.

“I chose Michigan because I want to win a National Championship and become an NBA player! I trusted this staff because we’ve built this relationship for a couple of years now.”

In his own words, what type of player is Michigan getting in Hartman?

“I would describe my playstyle as versatile. I can play multiple positions.”

He has a message for Michigan fans.

“Expect me to come in and bring more championships and get the Crisler rocking!”

Hartman becomes Michigan’s fourth commitment in the 2026 class, joining four-star PF Quinn Costello (No. 44 NATL), three-star SF Malachi Brown (No. 181 NATL), and C Marcus Moller.
