Duke adds Larissa Jacquez, Mallory Wheeler to bullpen
Cassidy Curd has help coming to the bullpen. Transfer pitchers Larissa Jacquez and Mallory Wheeler announced their commitments to Duke on Sunday.
Despite a 9-10 record with UIW last season, she had the lowest ERA in the Southland and the 12th in the NCAA at 1.65. Jacquez, who has two years of eligibility remaining, tossed a career-high 148.2 innings. She also had a 151 strikeouts to 59 walks and .208 batting average against.
According to our friends at 64Analytics, Jacquez had a 3.58 SIERA (Skill-Interactive Earned Run Average: A statistic that attempts to measure the underlying skill of a pitcher), which was on par with All-Americans Sam Landry and Robyn Herron.
