Four-star catcher Jewel Cooper joins 2027 LSU recruiting class
Baton Rouge is the place to be in the first week of the 2027 recruiting cycle. Jewel Cooper, a four-star catcher and the 29th overall recruit in the 2027 Softball America recruiting rankings, committed to LSU early Saturday morning. She joins fellow four-star Bryli Seifert, who committed earlier this week.
“LSU was my choice because it is very family-like and so welcoming,” Cooper said. “I knew it was my home away from home.”

Cooper is a strong force behind the plate with an elite-level arm and solid receiving skills. Her offensive power carried over from her high school season into the summer and can be a great RBI addition to the lineup.
Cooper is a part of the very talented Lady Magic Munoz lineup. The Liberty High School catcher also had camped and had interest from numerous schools including Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and others.
