2027 running back Elijah Kimble impressed after Indiana Junior Day visit
Class of 2027 running back Elijah Kimble made his way to Bloomington on Saturday, spending the day around Indiana’s program as part of a Junior Day visit that further solidified the Hoosiers’ standing in his recruitment.
“The visit was amazing, I loved it,” Kimble told TheHoosier.com.
The four-star prospect said he is not planning to make a commitment until July, but Indiana has clearly positioned itself among the programs he is weighing most heavily.
Kimble described the Hoosiers as one of the top contenders for his pledge and reiterated that Indiana remains firmly near the top of his list.
“Indiana definitely ranks in my top three for schools,” Kimble said.
Kimble pointed to the program’s recent rise as a major factor in his interest, noting the rapid turnaround from a 3-9 season two years ago to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances, capped by the school’s first national championship in January.
A key part of Indiana’s momentum with Kimble has been his relationship with running backs coach John Miller, whom Kimble said he connects with both on and off the field.

“My relationship with coach Miller great,” Kimble said. “We click very well, and I can see him playing a big role in my development because he knows the game and he’s been in my shoes before.”

Indiana offered Kimble last summer, and the Hoosiers have continued to build familiarity since then as his recruitment has accelerated.
The Buffalo, New York, native is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 1 player in the state of New York in the 2027 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He also checks in as the No. 14 running back nationally and the No. 215 overall player in the class.
With several months remaining before his decision, Kimble said he plans to continue evaluating his options. For now, Indiana remains squarely in the mix following a visit that left a strong impression as the Hoosiers look to build on their recent success on the recruiting trail.
