Hawkeyes land Class of 2025 LB Burke Gautcher
The Iowa Hawkeyes have a new commitment in the Class of 2025 from linebacker Burke Gautcher. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Gautcher, who hails from Sycamore, Illinois, announced his verbal pledge to the Iowa coaching staff on social media Sunday afternoon.
Gautcher, who attended Iowa’s home game against Michigan State on September 30, chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Illinois, Minnesota, Kent State, and Northern Illinois.
“After a long talk with my family, we decided it was the best fit because we loved the environment and the coaches,” Gautcher told HawkeyeReport.com. “We just felt like it was the right time to do it.”
At Sycamore High School, which produced former Hawkeyes Ben and Nick Niemann, Gautcher plays all over the field on both sides of the ball, but likely projects at linebacker in college.

“Iowa has always been a really good defensive team,” said Gautcher. “I feel like I could help make an impact.”
Overall, Gautcher is commitment No. 3 for Iowa in the Class of 2025 as he joins Nicolai Brooks and Joey VanWetzinga.
