Ashton Hagans returns to Lexington, signs autographs for fans

Former Kentucky point guard Ashton Hagans returned to Lexington this weekend for the first time since turning pro in 2020.

With the NBA G-League offseason here, Hagans came back to his college home to sign autographs and take pictures with fans for two days, Saturday and Sunday. His meet-and-greet took place at City Cuts Barbershop in Lexington.

Hagans is currently with the Raptors 905, the G-League affiliate for the Toronto Raptors. He just completed an impressive sophomore campaign as a pro, averaging 10.8 points per contest on 42% shooting, 34% from three and 80.6% from the free-throw line. The 6-foot-3 guard also added 6.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest.

The former Wildcat went undrafted in 2020 after two years in Lexington. He signed a two-way deal with Minnesota his first year after college, playing two regular-season games for the Timberwolves.

Hagans averaged a combined 9.4 points, 5.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest over the course of his Kentucky career. He earned SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors alongside LSU’s Tremont Waters in 2018-19 and was a two-time SEC All-Defensive Team member.
