WATCH: Mark Stoops addresses job status after blowout loss to Louisville

Kentucky was flat out embarrassed on Saturday afternoon in a 41-0 blowout loss to archrival Louisville. For the second season in a row, UK will be sitting out bowl season after the program’s eight-year postseason streak was snapped last year. After two blowout road losses to end the year, many in Big Blue Nation are wanting a change.

Mark Stoops says that he’s not going anywhere. The Kentucky head coach is ready for year 14.

“Come on. I mean, I don’t want to be disrespectful to you,” Stoops said, laughing when Jon Hale asked if he was considering stepping away from the program. “You think I’m going to walk away? Are you kidding me? No. Zero means zero. Zero percent chance I walk away.”

“I’m going to be here as far as I’m concerned. I can’t control what decisions are made. If you’re asking me, I said zero. Zero means zero. Zero percent chance I walk away.”

Well, that was certainly a strong statement. However, Stoops also admitted that he has “bosses”. The final decision on what direction Kentucky will go comes down to Mitch Barnhart. In the meantime, we’re left reacting to what happened at L&N Stadium.

Stoops, offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan, defensive coordinator Brad White, and quarterback Cutter Boley all spoke with the media to wrap-up a disappointing end to the season while looking ahead to the future.

Who will be leading the program in that future? Mark Stoops is planning to get back to work in Lexington.
