Former Eastern Michigan transfer receiver Markus Allen commits to Mississippi State
As the winter transfer portal window winds down, Mississippi State continues to search for more receivers for the 2025 roster. On Tuesday the Bulldogs added another receiver to their transfer portal class with former Eastern Michigan transfer Markus Allen.
The 6-foot-2 and 212-pound Allen officially visited Mississippi State on Monday and Tuesday before announcing his intentions to transfer to Mississippi State. Allen also held offers from Arkansas, West Virginia, UConn and Texas State among others.
Allen began his college career at Wisconsin and is a native of Clayton, Ohio. In his two seasons at Wisconsin, Allen combined for 10 catches for 156 yards and one touchdown. Allen redshirted in 2023 before playing this past season at Eastern Michigan.

In his lone season at Eastern Michigan, Allen had 43 catches and ranked second on the team with 651 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He has one season of remaining eligibility. In the Class of 2021, Allen was rated as the nation’s No. 73 receiver and the state’s No. 18 prospect by On3 rankings.
With his decision, Allen becomes the 21st transfer addition for Mississippi State this offseason. He is also the fourth transfer receiver added by the Bulldogs, joining Cam Thompson (Northern Illinois), Brenen Thompson (Oklahoma) and Jaron Glover (Michigan State).
