Oregon safety Daymon David enters transfer portal
One of the gems of Oregon’s 2021 recruiting class is on the move.
Daymon David, a freshman safety and former 4-star signee, has entered the transfer portal according to a report from Matt Zenitz of On3.
David played in nine games and recorded three tackles for the Ducks as a true freshman in 2021. He climbed Oregon’s two-deep toward the end of last season as it dealt with a flurry of injuries, and he figured to be in contention for playing time in 2022.

But David was sidelined all spring with a shoulder injury.
The Baltimore, Md., native was the No. 178 overall prospect and No. 10 safety in the nation according to the On3 Consensus and was the 11th-highest-ranked recruit in an Oregon class that On3 tabbed as the sixth-best in the country.
David is the ninth Oregon player to leave the program this offseason. Earlier this week, defensive lineman Kristian Williams also entered the transfer portal.
