In-state offensive lineman Anthony Baxter signs with South Carolina
It’s signing day in South Carolina, and signatures from prospects continue to roll in for Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks program.
The latest player to sign his paperwork with South Carolina football is in-state product and South Pointe (SC) Rock Hill offensive lineman Anthony Baxter.
The Rivals Industry Ranking rates Baxter as a three-star prospect. He is ranked No. 1450 nationally, No. 26 in South Carolina, and No. 139 amongst interior offensive linemen. The Football City, USA standout has experience playing multiple offensive line positions but should be an interior player in Columbia.

Baxter is the longest-tenured commitment in USC’s 2026 recruiting class. He pledged his services to the Gamecocks back in the spring of 2024 and never wavered. He is the teammate of fellow Carolina commit, four-star safety J’Zavien Currence.

Why South Carolina? “When I went to South Carolina my first time in 9th grade it felt like home. Every time I went back it added a new value to my heart. I prayed on this a lot of times and God told me im 100% commited,” Baxter said in a social media post.
