New South Carolina offensive coordinator Kendal Briles has been recruiting the state of Texas. The long-time playcaller knows the Lone Star State well, having coached there for 13 seasons.

Recently, South Carolina offered several players from Texas, including class of 2027 Forney (TX) offensive lineman Jordan Carraway. Carraway, listed at 6-5 and 290 pounds, is a three-star prospect rated by some in the recruiting industry as a future interior offensive lineman and by others as an offensive tackle.

Carraway announced the Gamecock offer on social media. He did not mention Briles in his post on Twitter/X. However, with how involved the new OC has been on evaluations/offers and his trip to Texas, it would stand to reason that he was involved.

With over 20 offers to his name, Carraway is a coveted recruit. He previously earned a TCU offer when Briles and new USC offensive line coach Randy Clements were in Fort Worth.

As a player, Carraway is a big-bodied high school tackle. He generates solid drive in the run game and possesses heavy hands and can anchor in pass protection. Carraway is strong when engaged and comfortable moving in space when needed. He also seems to relish opportunities to clear out unsuspecting second-level and third-level defenders.

Still somewhat of a raw project from a technical perspective, Carraway has already seen some success at the high school level and has a high ceiling if he continues developing. He is also a standout field performer for the Forney track and field squad.

The Rivals Industry Ranking considers Carraway the No. 608 overall player in the class of 2027. The big fella also ranks 48th nationally among interior blockers. He is the No. 82 prospect, regardless of position, in the state of Texas, as well.
