When he announced he was leaving Texas to play in the NFL, AD Mitchell penned a heart-tugging letter to his daughter, Icylinn. Mitchell said in the letter that everything he does he does for her. "You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me and my reason for everything I do," he wrote. And he sure did a lot when during his time as a college football player at Texas and Georgia. Mitchell was named the 2023 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year by the Associated Press and the Offensive Newcomer of the Year by the conference’s coaches. He established career highs with 55 receptions, 845 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns in 2023. During his time at Georgia, Mitchell registered 38 catches for 560 yards (14.7 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns while helping the Bulldogs win back-to-back national championships.
