Aneesah Morrow was the No. 1 recruit in Illinois coming out of Chicago Simeon in the 2021 class. She made an instant impact for DePaul and was named 2021-2022 second-team All-American by the AP, U.S. Basketball Writers Association, Sports Illustrated and The Athletic. She was also named The Athletic’s national Freshman of the Year after leading the team with 21.9 points, 13.8 rebounds and 89 steals as a freshman. Her father, Edward, played football at Nebraska. Her mother, Nafeesah, was an all-conference forward for the Cornhuskers.
