Ashley Owusu arrived at Virginia Tech for the 2022-2023 season after earning All-America honors in 2021 and 2022 at Maryland. Owusu was one of the top targets in the Transfer Portal before picking the Hokies. While at Maryland, she was a first-team All-Big Ten pick in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She was also the Big Ten Tournament MVP in 2020 and 2021. She entered the 2022-2023 season as a preseason All-ACC pick. Owusu was ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the country coming out of high school. After her basketball career is over, Owusu wants to be an engineer. Owusu has been extremely active through NIL executing deals with companies like CMG Leasing, Athletic Brewing Company, TIAA, Giant Food and others.
