New Orleans2026 Draft · Rnd 1 · Pick 8

Braylon Pope's combination of size, movement skills, and ability to track and make plays on the football reminds us of Jordyn Tyson. Pope was more physically developed at the same stage, with Tyson being a late bloomer who had a massive senior season. Both were track standouts with Pope starring as a sprinter and Tyson being an accomplished high jumper.

Braylon Pope Scouting Summary
Charles Power
05/26/26

Smooth, coordinated pass-catcher with one of the more complete skill sets among outside wide receiver prospects in the 2027 cycle. Has projectable size, measuring in at over 6-foot-2 and around 190 pounds prior to his junior season. A fluid athlete with natural movement patterns. One of the better athletes among bigger wide receiver prospects in the cycle. Projects as a plus route runner. Flashes a quality release package and can stack defensive backs off the line of scrimmage. Able to create separation with his change of direction and can take the top off on vertical routes with his long speed. A quality ball tracker and shows the ability to win in contested catch situations. A red zone target on jump balls and back shoulder throws for his high school team. Has good YAC ability and doubles as a dangerous return man, taking several kicks to the house as a junior. Finished his junior season with 55 catches for 869 yards and 12 touchdowns. Improved his track times as a junior, running an impressive 10.75 mark in the 100 meters. Does not play the strongest competition and can continue to get stronger at the catch point along with adding to his route tree. Has a highly projectable skill set given the combination of size, speed, and coordination. Could end up as one of the top wide receivers in the cycle and as an early round draft pick with continued development.
