Chloe Spreen remembers when basketball became her passion. It was after a loss in the fifth grade when her team lost twice at a country tournament. "It was so much more than basketball. It changed my mentality," Spreen told the IndyStar. "I was like, 'Alright, I'm going to be the best one out here now.' … I just wanted to be the best one and I wanted to win." Fast forward and she has reached her goal of being one of the best. Spreen was named the 2024 IndyStar Miss Basketball after leading Bedford North Lawrence to 93 wins, four sectional titles and its first state title since 2014 during her high school career. Spreen averaged 20.9 points per game and 6.9 rebounds during her senior year, helping her earn a four-star ranking.
