Colby Wooden earned first-team all-state, all-county and all-region honors at Lawrenceville (Ga.). After playing in three games as a redshirt freshman, Wooden emerged as a starting defensive tackle in 2020. Wooden made the SEC All-Freshman team and was third in the conference with 9.5 tackles for loss. In 2021, Wooden started at the defensive end and was twice SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week. He is the son of Nicole and Irvin Wooden. He has a younger brother named Caleb who is a defensive back for the Tigers. Irvin Wooden played football at Louisiana Tech. Caleb Wooden was a three-star recruit coming out of high school.
