Daiyan Henley took a winding path to end up as one of the top linebackers in college football for the 2022 season. He was originally an On3 Consensus three-star recruit – as a quarterback coming out of Los Angeles’ Crenshaw High School. He was named the Los Angeles City MVP during his senior season. He signed with Nevada and saw action in his freshman and sophomore seasons at receiver. He suffered a knee injury after four games in his junior season, played in all nine games of the COVID-shortened 2020 season and bounced back in his redshirt junior season with All-Mountain West Conference honors. He eventually transferred to Washington State for his redshirt senior season. With the Cougars, he transitioned to linebacker and quickly made an impact as one of the top defenders in the league. He is majoring in criminal justice.
