Daniel Jacobsen Scouting Summary
Jamie Shaw
11/04/23

You see the size immediately with Daniel Jacobsen, a true 7-footer. He has solid length and he moves well - very fluid. Jacobsen will need to continue getting stronger, but that should come as he continues to age (he is young for his class). Jacobsen can shoot the ball. He has range off the catch. There is some capability already of shooting off movement, which is unique for a player his size. He will need to continue working on the consistency of his releases and his shot load. As he continues to get stronger, more will come with his defensive presence, but he is fluid and has solid timing. He is tough around the basket, but his lack of strength allows him to get moved off his spot. He has solid shot block timing and that should continue as a strength. He finishes well around the basket and is comfortable getting to his left shoulder. He also plays well out of the dunker spot. He found comfort around the rim where he was able to use his size to his advantage. He moves well and runs the floor consistently which gets him in a solid starting position on both ends. There is nice upside here and an intriguing - and clear - pathway as he continues to get stronger in his base/core and develop.
