Personal Life

Coming out of Round Rock (Texas) Cedar Ridge, Deuce Vaughn wasn’t heavily recruited because of questions marks about his size. But what scouts couldn’t analyze was his heart. Vaughn made an immediate impact the second he arrived at Kansas State. He was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and earned freshman All-American honors in 2020. He followed that up with consensus All-American honors as a sophomore and preseason All-American recognition heading into his junior season. He already holds a long list of school career marks and is on track to shatter several Big 12 records. “We know that he’s a generational guy,” K-State coach Chris Klieman told The Athletic. “And you say, whoa, that’s a big term to say he’s a generational guy. But I think it’s as much what he can do off the field for our football team as what he can do on the field.” Father, Chris, is an NFL scout for the Dallas Cowboys, while he spent 18 seasons as a college assistant coach at Arkansas, Ole Miss, Memphis and Texas, and he played collegiately at Murray State.
