Gavin Griffiths finished his high school career at West Hartford (Connecticut) Kingswood-Oxford School. He initially attended Simsbury High before enrolling at Kingswood-Oxford School and repeating his freshman year. He scored 18.2 points per game that first season, scoring 35 points in his first game. His father, Larry Griffiths, played basketball at Hartford and overseas. He was a 1,000-point scorer for the Hawks.
