Haynes King was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of Longview (Texas) High School in the 2020 class. King was an on-and-off starter for the Texas A&M Aggies during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He had won the job out of camp in 2021 but was injured in the second game of the year. He returned in 2022 as the starting quarterback out of training camp once again but failed to consistently hold the position throughout the season. In his career in College Station, King had 1,579 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Following the 2022 season, King entered the Transfer Portal, but he did leave a lasting impression on the Aggie coaches for his toughness.
