Ja'Kobe Walter Scouting Summary
Jamie Shaw
03/28/23

Ja’Kobe Walter shined the whole week on the defensive end of the floor. Of course he made some shots like he always does, especially when his feet are set or he is stepping into it, but his on ball defense was aggressive and disruptive. He has a strong frame, with good length which he put to good use.

Personal Life

Ja'kobe Walter was a prominent piece in helping McKinney (Texas) High School to the Class 6A state title game in 2022. However, he announced a few short months later he was transferring to Link Academy in Missouri for his senior season of high school basketball. Walter, who was named his district’s player of the year and picked to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state team, spent the first three seasons of his high school career at McKinney. As a junior, he averaged 23.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 2.3 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. Even with the success, Walter is still focused on getting better every day. “If I do something, people may think I’m coming off as too aggressive,” Walter said. “But it’s really just the fact that I care a lot about what I’m doing and I’m usually trying to put my all into it.”
