One of Apopka (Fla.) High’s most famous alums, and arguably its most famous, is Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp. But almost 30 years after emerging as a star at Miami, another Apopka (Florida) High alum is making a name for himself: Jalen Carter. Carter has emerged as one of the best players in football, despite starting only two games in his first two seasons with Georgia. At Apopka High, Carter played in all three phases of the game. He was a defensive tackle, tight end and punter. He also played basketball and competed in weightlifting. Carter is majoring in learning design and technology.
