Jase McClellan was the eighth-ranked player in Texas coming out of Aledo High School in the Class of 2020. During his high school career, McClellan was named MVP of the state championship game during his freshman season. He also finished with 6,468 yards and 122 rushing scores during his time in high school. McClellan saw action as a freshman at Alabama, finishing with 235 yards and two scores. His sophomore season was cut short because of an injury, but he still had five touchdowns in SEC competition. In 2022, McClellan ranked second on the Tide with 112 carries and 655 rushing yards to go with a team-high typing seven scores on the ground. McClellan would emerge as the full-time starter in the 2023 season and became the Tide's leading rusher throughout the regular season. He topped 100 yards against Ole Miss and Tennessee.
