Personal Life

Hello, my name is Jason Walker. I grew up as a military child and moved 7 times. This taught me to be adaptable, resilient, and able to embrace change. My late elementary and early middle school years were spent in South Africa, where there was no football program. sAs a result, I wasn't able to play football until 8th grade. I was late to joining the sport but I didn't let that stop me. I didn't see much action my 8th grade year so I hit the offseason hard going into high school. My freshman year I started both ways for my freshman team. We didn't get the season we wanted so again I hit the offseason hard. My sophmore year I started on JV while also seeing meaningful playing time in varsity games. My junior year I finally beat out the guy in front of me to lock down the starting spot. My junior year stats weren't what I wanted them to be. My team faced Injuries on the offensive line, causing me to have to play tackle for the first three games. I still played a good amount of defensive snaps, just not as many as I had hoped going into the season. Finally, in week 4, I got to play the whole game on defense. I seized my opportunity and ran with it. Once again, we didn't have the season we had hoped for. I'm excited to run it back one last time with my guys and improve next year
