Personal Life

Jaylan Ford was a four-star recruit coming out of Frisco (Texas) Lone Star High School in the 2020 recruiting class. Ford amassed 142 tackles (115 solo), including 11 tackles for loss, one sack, six pressures, one interception, one pass breakup and one forced fumble as a senior in high school. Ford played in all 10 games of the 2020 season, playing mainly on special teams, but he did start in the Alamo Bowl where he racked up 14 tackles and one tackle for a loss. He started two games in 2021, registering 53 tackles and a team-leading six tackles for a loss. Ford continued his assent as a junior, earning third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press and first-team All-Big 12 recognition from both writers and coaches. Ford totaled a career-high 119 tackles (61 solo), 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, four interceptions, two quarterback hurries and two pass breakups in 2022. Ford repeated with first-team all-league honors in 2023, leading the Longhorns in the regular season with 91 tackles (40 solo) and 10.5 tackles for loss, including one sack, while hauling in two interceptions, breaking up two passes, forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble.
