Reminds Us Of

Jaylon Braxton's play speed, ball skills and two-way playmaking reminds us of Jaire Alexander at the same stage. Alexander was a more prolific receiver, catching 20 touchdowns as a senior. Braxton was around an inch taller and had better track times.

Scouting Report
Two-way player who has a well-rounded skill set as a cornerback prospect. Has one of the better combinations of speed and ball skills among the 2023 cornerback group. Measured 5-foot-11.5, 167 pounds with a 6-foot-1.5 wing-span prior to his senior season. Tests as a good athlete in the combine setting, running an electronically-timed 4.62 second 40-yard dash. Also runs well on the track with a 10.83 second 100 meter time as a junior. Primarily plays off coverage for his high school. Shows a solid break on the ball. His experience as a wide receiver aids in ball skills as a cornerback, where he’s able to come down with arms-extended interceptions. Shows a willingness to get physical as a run defender. Turned in a strong senior season as a two-way player, caching 41 passes for 566 yards and 6 touchdowns to go with five interceptions. Flashes his athleticism as a return man. Has a slighter build at under 170 pounds and will need to add some mass at the next level. Also is not overly long for the position.
