Reminds Us Of

Jeremiah Cobb's compact frame, feel as a runner and versatility as a pass catcher reminds us of Shane Vereen. Both also were accomplished sprinters at the high school level with sub-11.0 second marks in the 100 meters.
Team Predictions
Scouting Report
Dynamic back who can get from 0 to 100 in a flash. Shows the ability to accelerate and reach full speed in a hurry. Plays with low pad level and displays tremendous contact balance. Compact build standing at 5-foot-10.5, 185 pounds. Carries his weight well and has good weight distribution throughout his frame. Leg drive allows him to pull through arm tackles and fight for crucial extra yards. Showed off his long speed in track, running a 10.88 second mark in the 100 meters as a sophomore. Shows off his receiving ability by working in the slot often. Has some hip stiffness and makes defenders miss with his footwork more than his fluidity. His ability to hit the hole at full speed and blow through tackles is his greatest asset on first and second down. If he can continue to refine his ability as a pass catcher he can become a true three-down back at the next level.

Personal Life
Jeremiah Cobb rushed for more than 2,000 yards as a sophomore, but he was not satisfied. In fact, Cobb has continued to transform his body into what it takes to play running back on the next level. “It’s hard for a Power Five school to feel good about you when you’re 170 pounds,” Cobb’s coach, Kirk Johnson, told the Montgomery Independent. “He’s different. Jeremiah Cobb ran the ball at 160 pounds like he was 205. But when he’s 185 and he runs like he’s 205, that’s going to be a lot different. We ask a lot out of him, and he does a lot of things for us.” Cobb lists hunting and fishing as his hobbies, and he plans on majoring in sports medicine in college. His mother is Rachel Cobb. He has one sibling.
