Iowa State receiver Jaylin Noel used to two words to accurately describe Jeremiah Cooper. "Ball hawk," Noel said. "He's a ball hawk. He knows where to be on the field every time. Right time, right place. And he brings so much energy, knowing that he's got the potential to get a takeaway at any time. It gives the whole team energy. He got better and better every game and always made big plays." During the 2023 season, Cooper collected five interceptions and was among the nation’s best in that category. Along with the five interceptions, Cooper recorded 45 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 10 pass break ups in just 11 games, missing two games with injury.
